NBA Finals Game 7 - Lakers vs Celtic

The best NBA finals series in years will come to a close on Thursday as the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Boston Celtics in game 7 at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. The Lakers avoided losing the championship in a dominant display against the Celtics in game 6 to tie the series 3-3. Although the Lakers have momentum going into the game, it is interesting to note that it will be the fifth finals game seven between Boston and the Lakers with the Celtics having won the first four.

Having said that, the Celtics will need to improve. The team shot just 33.3 percent from the field in Tuesday's game 6 after shooting 56.3 percent in their game five victory.

"Today and tomorrow is what's in front of us," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "We obviously would have rather been in another place today. An airplane would have been nice. But we're not, and we're responsible for that. We accept that, and so we have to move on."

If the Lakers win, the LAPD say they are ready for the celebrations. Hundreds of Los Angeles Police Department officers will be on horses, motorcycles and bicycles throughout the area around the stadium.

The game starts at 6pm Pacific time on Thursday 17 June 2010.
