A study by researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health has found that replacing as little as a third of a daily serving of white rice with an equal amount of brown rice may lower the risk of type 2 diabetes.
The study found that eating more than 4 servings of white rice per week
increased the risk of type 2 diabetes.
Brown rice is unmilled or partly milled rice, a kind of whole, natural grain. It
has a mild nutty flavor, is chewier and more nutritious than white rice, and
becomes rancid much more quickly. |
